How to remove rear center console on R-Class W251

The R-Class can be a great family VAN. While it is a great luxury car with two center consoles, the rear center console can sometimes be impractical, especially if you want kids to jump into the third row quickly. Luckily the center console can be removed.

Instructions

Follow these instructions to remove the center console on an R-Class. This guide applies to R350, R500, R550, R63 AMG

1. Open the rear door and access the rear center console.
2. Locate the center console release at the front.
3. Pull the lever up.
4. Lift the center console up and remove it.
5. Remove the center console from your R Class.

Note that the center console has two positions.

You can install it all the way forward or back.

The base of the center console cannot be removed.
