Replace Engine Air Filter Mercedes E C CLK CLS G GLK ML Class

The engine air filter should be replaced every 10,000 miles. There are two air filters in your Mercedes-Benz. They are both on the engine cover, which you can see in the pictures below. Replacement is easy if you have a Torx tool set like the one below. The whole job only takes about 30 minutes max. These instructions apply to most Mercedes-Benz cars from 2000 to 2011. Instructions (How to change engine air filter)

1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the air inlet ducts. There are two of them. You pull them toward the front of the car.
3. Remove the air duct on the other side as well.
4. Locate the engine cover. Grab it on the sides and lift it. The whole engine cover is held in place with four clips. The cover comes off with pressure—no need to remove any screws other than the air ducts.
5. Flip the engine cover upside down and locate the air filters.
6. Locate the 4 torx bolts and use TEKTON 1351 3/8-Inch Drive Star Bit Socket Set, T10 – T50, 10-Piece
7. Remove the old air filter. Pull it out. Notice the orientation so that you can install the new filter properly.

9. Remove the second air filter on the other side of the engine cover housing.
10. Place the engine cover housing on top of the engine. Put some pressure on the cover to push it down the cover so the four clips we showed above sit in the right place.
