Look up the fuse assignment and relays for the S and CL classes. If you find a blown fuse, replace it with the same color. The S and CL classes use the fuse types shown here. LOCATION OF FUSES & RELAYS

In the S CL-class, these fuses are located in the following places:

Fuses 1 through 27, Relays A B C D E F G H I J: are in the engine compartment left side/driver side. Open the hood and look next to the hood hinge on the driver’s side. Remove the black plastic cover, and you will see these fuses.

Fuses 28 through 49, Relays O N M L K, are in the right/passenger side engine compartment. Open the hood and look for the black plastic cover next to the hood hinge on the passenger side.

Fuses 50 to 77, Relays Q R S T U: are located in the fuse and relay box under the rear seat on the passenger side. Remove the rear seat and you will see these fuses and relays.

The S and CL Class have always been Mercedes-Benz flagship vehicles. They always had the most advanced technologies on them during production, and the W220 was no different. They have so many electronics that fuses can’t blow. Remember that under the regular operation of a specific circuit, the fuse wouldn’t blow. So if you find a blown fuse and it blows again shortly after you replace it, then you should look for an underlying problem to the corresponding circuit. We have provided the list below, covering all 2000-2006 CL and S Classes. Please comment at the bottom of the page if you find any discrepancies.

The best way to test fuses is to remove them and visually inspect them. You will see a broken wire between the two terminals if it blows.
